Domestic Disturbance Lands Sheldon Man In Jail On Attempted Murder Charge

(Sheldon)– A Sheldon man has been arrested on attempted murder charges following a domestic disturbance.

Sheldon police were called to a disturbance around 10:40 p.m. Monday at 802 Fourth Avenue. An investigation revealed a gun had been fired in the home. No one was injured.

Police arrested 18-year-old Shawn Burrington at the home and charged him with attempted murder…a class “B” felony; going armed with intent…a class “D” felony; and reckless use of a firearm…an aggravated misdemeanor.

Burrington was booked into the O’Brien county jail on bond of nearly 49-thousand dollars.

Officers from the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted on the scene.
