Disagreement Over Thermos Leads To Stabbing

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A fight between two out-of-town construction workers at a Spencer motel Thursday has lead to the arrest of both men and landed one in the hospital with stab wounds.

Spencer police were called to the Budget Inn around 6:00 a.m. Thursday on a report of a man being stabbed. When they arrived, they discovered to men staying at the motel had gotten into a fight and one man had stabbed the other in the upper left arm. The men were identified as 39-year-old Jeffrey Feltner of Atlantic and 35-year-old Ollie Jackson of Carroll.

According to witnesses, the argument broke out over a thermos bottle and escalated to the point where Jackson is alleged to have stabbed Feltner in the arm.

Feltner was treated and released from Spencer Hospital. He was then arrested and charged with simple assault. Jackson was arrested and charged with willful injury…a class “C” felony.

Jackson was booked into the Clay county jail. Feltner was released from custody on his own recognizance.
