Dickinson County Supervisors Approve Resolution For Trails Grant Application

June 24, 2026

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved a resolution updating an agreement under which the county intends to apply for another State Recreational Trails Grant. Trails Director Erin Reed says this is for phase five of the Tatanka Ska Trace trail, a two and-a-half mile segment along former railroad right-of-way from near the fish hatchery east toward Superior…

“It’s a beautiful section of trail that we had cleared out in a project over the last year and-a-half or so. It’s all been surveyed and we’ve got plans about 90 percent done already, so it bodes well for getting grants with the state we’re at right now with the funding already there and having it pretty much designed and ready to go, shelf ready.”

This would mark the first expansion of the Dickinson County Trails system to the east.
