(Spirit Lake)– Time and a considerable amount of money. The Dickinson county board of supervisors learned Tuesday those are the two main elements needed to complete the Nature Center project.
Terry Sheeler, speaking on behalf of the county’s Conservation Board, told the supervisors an additional 298-thousand dollars is needed to complete the first phase of rennovating the former Back Porch building.
In addition, Sheeler says they’re recommending a Project Manager be hired to oversee the effort at an annual salary of between 50-thousand and 75-thousand dollars. He requested a commitment from the county in helping with the funding. Supervisors made no such commitment Tuesday.
Jack Jones, President of the Dickinson County Conservation Foundation, told the supervisors that organization hasn’t taken on any fundraising projects. He says they’ve had some promotional brochures printed, but that’s it.
