(Spirit Lake)– A leash law is going on the books in most unincorporated areas of Dickinson county.
The board of supervisors Tuesday unanimously adopted the new ordinance, which takes effect upon publication…sometime in the next two weeks.
The ordinance requires all pets to be on a leash in unincorporated areas…with the exception of those that are zoned agricultural. Supervisors made the exception as a compromise to farmers with farm dogs.
The supervisors adopted the ordinance Tuesday following a public hearing that drew no opposition.
