Courthouse Move Gets Under Way

(Spirit Lake)– The move into the first phase of Dickinson county’s new courthouse is underway.

The Assessor and Recorder’s offices made the move Monday inspite of the inclement weather. The Recorder’s Office will be closed yet today, with the Assessor’s Office opening in its new digs.

Today (Tuesday), the County Treasurer and Information Technology Director are moving into the new courthouse. The Treasurer’s Office will be closed both today (Tues.) and Wednesday to accomodate the move. The driver’s license station will also be closed Wednesday.

The Sheriff and Veteran’s offices will move Wednesday. The Sheriff’s Office will remain open during the move. The Veteran’s Office will be closed Wednesday.

The Auditor will move to her temporary location in what used to be the Assessor’s Office on the east side of Hill Avenue THursday. The judicial system will move into the new courthouse on Friday, with the Clerk of Court to be closed Friday afternoon.

The county’s General Relief and Emergency Management offices will relocate in the new courthouse this coming Monday. The General Relief office will be closed that day.
