(Algona)– A collision Monday near Algona claimed the life of an Emmetsburg woman.
The Iowa State Patrol says 40-year-old Teddy Kutsch of Brule, Nebraska was driving a 2014 Peterbilt semi and 47-year-old Carolee Wise of Emmetsburg was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. An accident report says Kutsch was driving the semi southbound on 90th Avenue when he failed to stop at an intersection and collided with the vehicle driven by Wise who was eastbound on 210th Street.
Carolee Wise died in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her vehicle, 76-year-old Bernadette Wise of Emmetsburg, along with the driver of the semi, were taken by ambulance to the Algona hospital.
The collision took place around 10:30 am. Troopers say it remains under investigation.
The Algona Police Department, Algona Fire Department and the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.
