(Lake Park)– A lot of clean up is getting underway across the area after severe storms packing damaging winds roared through between 2:00 and 2:30 am this (Tues.) morning. Dickinson County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ehret tells KUOO news the damage in some areas is extensive, especially in and near Lake Park…

A very large grain bin at the elevator in Lake Park was pretty much destroyed with damage reported to a couple of others. Fortunately, Ehret says there have been no reports of injuries…

In addition, Ehret says some may be forced to take alternate routes to get to where they need to go this (Tues.) morning…

The Dickinson County Spine Trail between Okoboji and Spirit Lake is also closed and will be continue to be until further notice. Trails Director Erin Reed says the trail is blocked at a number of locations in that area due to downed trees and branches.
