(Spencer)– An accident early this (Friday) morning in Clay county has resulted in charges against two Spencer residents.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called around 2:30 a.m. to a motor vehicle accident in rural Clay county. Authorities say the occupants of the vehicle, 23-year-old Brent Newcomb and 24-year-old Venessa Selzer, allegedly obstructed deputies during their investigation into the incident. Both were charged with interference with official acts.
In addition, deputies say they discovered some drug paraphernalia as the vehicle was being removed from a ditch. That resulted in an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia being filed against Newcomb.
Newcomb and Selzer were booked into the Clay county jail pending an appearance before a magistrate.
