Clay Co. Traffic Stop Results In Drug Charges Against Two Minnesota Men

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Charges have been filed against two Minnesota men in connection with a traffic stop that took place last weekend in Clay county.

The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped a pickup driven by 21-year-old Joseph Bendlin of LeSueur, Minnesota for a speeding violation around 3:00 p.m. Sunday just north of the intersection of Highway 71 and Clay County Road B-53. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up quantities of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Bendlin and a passenger, his 31-year-old brother Adam Bendlin of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia…both simple misdemeanors. They were booked into the Clay county jail on bond of 2,275-dollars.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
