(Spencer)– A Greenville man escaped injury after swerving to miss another vehicle that was travelling in his lane on a Clay county road.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year-old Thomas Gross of Greenville was eastbound on 440th Street when he noticed a dark blue Chevy truck that was westbound in his lane. Authorities say Gross swerved to miss hitting the vehicle head-on. The 2003 Dodge Pickup Gross was driving went off the road and vaulted over a field driveway, with the vehicle coming to rest on its top in the south ditch. No injuries were reported to Gross.
Authorities are continuing their search for the driver of the other vehicle, which fled the scene. Anyone with information contact the Clay County Sheriff’s office.
Seven thousand dollars in damage was estimated to the pickup driven by Gross.
The crash took place around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
