The Wild Rose casino in Emmetsburg opened quietly on Memorial Day weekend, but is geared up for a grand opening celebration this 4th of July weekend. Spokesperson Kathy Fahy (Fay) says business has been steady in the first month.

Fahy tells KUOO News 10 percent of the Wild Rose’s business has come from Minnesota, with Fort Dodge and Sioux City as other strong areas.
The Wild Rose is a massive structure on the East side of Emmetsburg, with more than just a stand-alone casino.

The Irish theme at the Wild Rose Casino, obviously, is a local touch, but Fahy says the architecture itself was done as a nod to Emmetsburg’s history.

The Wild Rose is open 24 hours on all weekends, and will also be open 24 hours Monday and Tuesday of next week for the 4th of July.
