Ashton Crash Leaves 1 Person Complaining Of Possible Injury

(Ashton)– A two-vehicle accident Tuesday in Ashton resulted in one person seeking treatment for possible injuries.

Authorities say a 1988 Chrysler LeBaron driven by 76-year-old Allen Shannon of Sibley and an Iowa State Patrol squad car driven by 30-year-old Vince Kurtz of Orange City collided at the intersection of Highway 60 and Osceola County Road A-46 in Ashton shortly after 11:00 a.m.

Shannon complained of possible injuries; no injuries were reported to Kurtz.

The vehicle driven by Shannon was totaled; extensive front-end damage was reported to the squad car.

Shannon was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

The mishap took place shortly after 11:00 a.m.
