(Spencer)– Charges have been filed against two men in connection with an underage drinking pary last weekend in Clay county.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of a suspected keg party near Webb around 1:00 a.m. Saturday. Deputies made routine traffic stops on two vehicles that had minors in them that had allegedly been drinking. One deputy tried to stop a Chevy Tahoe driven by 21-year-old Kenley Buettner of Webb, who led the deputy on a pursuit that went down some dirt paths. The deputy lost the vehicle on the rough trail. During a search for Buettner, deputies located 21-year-old Ryan Sassman of Rembrandt who was arrested on two counts of supplying alcohol to minors.
A short time later, deputies were standing in a yard when Buettner drove a truck toward them with no headlights on, stopping just short of the deputies. Buettner got out of the vehicle screaming and making threatening movements toward the deputies. Buettner failed to obey the deputies demand to drop to the ground. A deputy then deployed a taser on Buettner, who was taken into custody and taken to Spencer Hospital to be checked out. He was later booked into the Clay county jail on several charges, including operating while intoxicated…second offense; unsafe turn; wreckless driving; eluding; driving while revoked and resisting arrest.
