Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire-Rescue Pancake Fundraiser Is This Friday & Saturday (May 1st & 2nd)

April 29, 2026

(Arnolds Park)– An event that’s become synonymous each year with Walleye Weekend is coming up this Friday and Saturday. Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire and Rescue will hold their annual pancake feed. Chief Chris Yungbluth says there’s a bit of a twist to this year’s event…

“The big thing for us is that we’re at a little bit of a different location while our fire station’s being built. We’ll be at The Roof Garden. The folks at the park have been able to let us get into that space to use for our fundraiser so we appreciate that very much. It will be Friday night, we’ll be there 5:00 to 8:00 pm and then we’ll start Saturday morning right away once again 7:00 am til noon. Serving pancakes from the Boy Scouts again. They make the best ones in the area. We’ll be grilling sausage, the firefighters, and then there’s a choice of a beverage. We usually have coffee, milk, chocolate milk and an orange drink there available.”

Tickets will be available at the door…

“Adults are six bucks, kids are three bucks, and of course we accept donations, too. We’re going to use the money toward upgrading our aerial drone system and then anything the we might need when we move into the new station is kind of what we’re raising the funds for this year.”

Yungbluth adds they look forward to seeing everyone again…

“Yeah, we’ve got guys that come back every year, have their boat hooked up to the back of their pickup trucks and they stop in either on their way back in from the overnight fishing or on their way out to the lake to do some fishing. We see quite a few of them year after year and it’s just a good community gathering so that folks can reconnect and see what their first responders are doing as well.”

Those who would like to contribute to the department and are unable to attend either Friday or Saturday may drop off donations at either city hall or mail them to P.O. Box 437 in Arnolds Park.

This will mark the 49th year for the APO Fire-Rescue Pancake fundraiser.
