July 08, 2026

(Okoboji)– Another reminder of the Region 3 REAP, or Resource Enhancement and Protection Assembly meeting coming up later this month in the Iowa Great Lakes.

The July 18th session will be hosted by the Dickinson County Conservation Board and will be held at Maser Monarch Lodge beginning at 1:00 pm that afternoon. Amy Heibult of the Dickinson County Conservation Board and Nature Center says they’re excited to host the event…

“This is a time to learn about different funding opportunities for any conservation or nature-related cultural or historical improvements that could be found by, this could be residential folks, this could also be city or conservation. So anybody that has any sort of natural improvements that they have a project that they’re wanting to learn more about funding opportunities, this is a great time to get some information.”

Heibult says they’ll also have displays on some of the projects REAP has funded locally…

“So we’re going to be showcasing some of the local funded projects of REAP. There’s going to be some of us from the Conservation Board, cities, Iowa Natural Resources Department. It’s a great time to discuss and connect with others and also see some of the equipment that we have. So our IRVM program has a few pieces of equipment that will be located on site. We’ll have refreshments and we’ll also be going over the civic mandate. So the expenditures and state policies. It’s a time of gathering and connection with others in the area.”

Five delegates will also be elected during the July 18th assembly to represent Region 3 during the REAP Congress August 29th in Des Moines.
