(Estherville)– Iowa Lakes Community College has a new President.
The College’s board of trustees Tuesday voted in favor of a committee recommendation to hire Dr. Harold Prior as the college’s sixth President.
Prior currently is Superintendent of the Algona and Burt School Districts. He was named Superintendent of the Year in 1999-2000 by the School Administrators of Iowa. Dr. Prior received a PH.D in Educational Administration from Iowa State University. He is a veteran of the US Air Force where he served as a nuclear weapons specialist.
Current ILCC President, Dr. Michael Hupfer, will retire February 1st. It isn’t known yet when Dr. Prior will officially take over. Trustees have named Val Newhouse, the college’s current Vice President, as Interim President.
Dr. Tim Grieves, Spirit Lake Superintendent of Schools, was one of four finalists that interviewed for the ILCC President job.
