(Sheldon)– Work on a railroad crossing is going to result in Highway 18 through Sheldon being closed to traffic next week.
Officials with the Iowa D.O.T say the road will be closed beginning Monday, August 31st, from Marsh Avenue to Second Avenue, or old Highway 60. The closure will be in place until 9:00 am Saturday, September 5th, depending upon the weather.
A detour will be in place:
- At the U.S. 18 and Marsh Avenue intersection, south on Marsh Avenue to Sioux County Road B-20
- East on Sioux County Road B-20/330th Street/W 16th Street to Second Avenue/Old Iowa 60
- North on Second Avenue/Old Iowa 60, back to U.S. 18
