Milford City Councilman Says He Wants Answers On Status Of Millstone Park Project

September 28, 2020

(Milford)– A Milford city council member says he wants to know what the status is with Millstone Park. The park was built on city-owned land a couple of years ago on the southeast corner of 13th Street and Highway 71. Plans at the time included a number of features and special effects which to date have not been installed in the park. Speaking during the comments portion of last (Monday’s) evening meeting, councilman Andy Yungbluth questioned why the project came to a standstill…Yungbluth & Millstone Park Concerns

“Is that something that we as a council need to decide that if they’re not going to do anything more to it then we’re going to withdraw our funding or where we’re at with that. I mean we contributed 20 grand over what, four or five years. If they’re not going to do anything more to it and it’s just going to stay, from what people say to me it’s a shambles, then why are we dumping city funds into it? Obviously the park isn’t getting utilized. It’s not to the point where they said it was going to be. I mean they told us when they came and sold it to us that it was going to have this, it was going to have that, it was going to have this and none if it’s there.”

Yungbluth also referenced a CAT grant from the state that the city supported as part of the project.

Mayor Steve Anderson said he wants to hear from those that were spearheading the Millstone Park project to see what they have to say about it.
