(Spencer)– Authorities now say a Spencer man who was arrested following a stand-off Sunday was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.
21-year-old Dawson Walker was booked into the Clay county jail Sunday after allegedly threatening the occupants of a home with a gun. Officers entered the residence and safely evacuated the occupants and removed the firearm. However Walker then brandished a butcher knife and held authorities at bay for about an hour and-a-half before surrendering.
Walker was booked into jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, domestic abuse assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, operation without the owner’s consent, false imprisonment and interference with official acts.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office now says Walker, who was still in jail Monday afternoon on those charges, was served a warrant for probation revocation. Bond on the warrant was set at $5,000.
