(Spencer)– Officials with the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation say the first annual “Build My Future” event Thursday at the Clay County Regional Events Center in Spencer was a huge success.
Over 750 students from the region attended, with hands-on exhibits from more than 50 businesses and industries in the region, representing construction, welding, healthcare, HVAC, first responders, healthcare and many more.
Trevor Smith, Senior VP of Economic Development for the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation, says a key goal of Thursday’s event was to introduce area high school students to the opportunities available to them locally.
