(Okoboji)– In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Parks Marina announced the donation of $500 to the Spencer Hospital Abben Cancer Center in Spencer. The funds were raised through the sales of limited edition Barefoot Bar t-shirts.
“This effort is such a great tradition for our company to make an impact during breast cancer awareness month.” Debbie Parks, Parks Marina owner, said. “Our customers and staff remain committed to the fight against breast cancer!”
This annual fundraiser is one of many for Parks, with over $700 raised for the Northwest Iowa Humane Society this June during their Props, Paws & Poker run as well as $28,606 raised during the Winter Games Battle of the Bartenders last January.
The much-anticipated Boatload of Toys fundraiser is set to begin in November, which benefits youth served by Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Dickinson County. More information will be released on Parks Marina’s Facebook Page as the dates get closer.
