(Terril)– City officials in Terril this (Tuesday) afternoon announced the tap water is now safe to drink. It comes after test results came back favorably.
The city issued a notification Saturday telling residents not to drink the water after high levels of manganese were discovered, causing a pink coloration in the water. It was announced at Monday’s City Council meeting the cause was due to a filtration issue in the city’s new treatment facility.
Brian Klein, a licensed technician currently overseeing the city’s Water Department, told the council they’ve taken measures in an effort to prevent such a glitch from happening again.
