(Arnolds Park)– An annual event in the Iowa Great Lakes that reminds us that fall is just around the corner is now just a little more than a month away. The 35th annual University of Okoboji Oktoberfest is coming up September 26th.
Registration for the bike ride is underway. The $30 per person fee increases to $35 September 8th. Participants will receive a free commemorative t-shirt and those of age will get a free beer from West O. You can sign up for the bikeride and other Oktoberfest events at uofookotoberfest.com.
Blain Andera, President and CEO of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, gives a rundown on the other fun events that will be taking place that day…
“So we also have a bags tournament that day and that always sells out. You can get registered for that ahead of time. We do have a vendors show as well. Last year I think we had around 35 or 40 different vendors down there, so that’s something that folks if they have a business that they want to participate with, crafts or anything like that, they can register for that.”
Live music will also be available that afternoon from 12 Noon until 4:00 pm along with inflatables for the kids and a raffle for an E-bike. Other events include the Keg Toss Competition, Stein Holding Competition and the Duck Derby.
