(Spencer)– The city of Spencer and the Spencer Community School District will each receive a share in $34 million in the latest round of disaster relief funds from FEMA stemming from the 2024 flood.
The Spencer Community School District is receiving nearly $3.2 million for building repairs, including those at Johnson Elementary School. The city of Spencer is receiving a little more than $2.3 million for repairs at city parks and 17 wastewater lift stations.
Rock Valley is receiving nearly $2 million to repair damage at the city’s library; the Rock Valley First Reformed Church is getting $370,000 for building repairs and the Sioux County Conservation Board is receiving $164,000 to repair park buildings, roads, culverts and trails.
