The Iowa State Patrol says 30-year-old Sidhanth Pillai of Spencer was driving a 2021 Accura southbound on County Road M54 and went through a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 18 and collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 36-year-old Tyle Olson of Ayrshire.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital.

Pillai was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

The Spencer Ambulance along with fire and EMS personnel from the Spencer and Dickens Fire Departments assisted on the scene. The collision took place around 6:40 am.
