Estherville Police Dept. Moving To New Location

February 13, 2026

(Estherville)– The Estherville Police Department has some new digs.

The city purchased a building at 509 1st Avenue North in Estherville in August of last year, which will serve as the department’s new headquarters. Police Chief Brent Shatto says renovations to that building are nearly complete.

Up until now, the department had been sharing space with the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office at the county law enforcement center. He says the department occupied four offices and some common space in that facility, causing growing pains for both agencies.

Shatto adds the new police station will be a locked facility but that it will be accessible to the public through a police officer. He says anyone needing assistance should call the same number as before: 712-362-3515 or 911.

Shatto says they’ll hold an open house and will release those details later.
