Jackson County LEC/Govt. Center Construction Remains On Schedule

May 09, 2025 Steve Schwaller

(Jackson, Mn.)– The new Jackson County Law Enforcement and Government Center is still on track to be finished by late May of 2026. Carl Clark, construction manager with Little Falls, Minnesota-based Contegrity Group Inc. says there has been a lot going on this week…

“This has been a very busy week. Moline is setting the last of the pre-casts for the penthouse floor, the mechanical room floor. That’s what they’re doing here with the big crane and all the trucks and the unfortunate inconvenience of having the streets blocked off and that type of thing. The Mason is still busy setting up structural walls on the other side and then the plumber and the electrician are keeping up with the mason.”

The streets by the courthouse will open up again but Jackson County Administrator Ryan Krosch says additional closures are coming…

“July August time frame it will be shut down again as will the front entrance of government west. We’re making plans with Des Moines Valley of accessing the building through the back southwest corner door.”

The total cost of the project is 41.2 million dollars and will be paid for with cash reserves, existing revenue from wind production, current property taxes and a 1 percent countywide sales and use tax. You can go to jackson.mn.us to see a link that has a live camera feed of the construction site.
