(Des Moines)– State Auditor Rob Sand has issued a report on Dickinson county’s finances. It shows revenue of $26,187,400 for the fiscal year that ended June 30th, 2024, up 5.1 percent from the prior fiscal year. Expenses for the county totaled $19,132,277, a decrease of less than one percent. The report says the increase in revenue is due primarily to an increase in property taxes.
Seven findings were mentioned in the report, with six of those repeated from the prior year. They include a lack of segregation of duties, adjustments needed to properly record receipts, and capital assets in the county’s financial statements and disbursements exceeding the amount appropriated prior to amendment at year end.
