(Okoboji)-The Spirit of Harmony Chorus will hold their Fall Concert this weekend. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Spirit of Harmony Chorus will present their annual fall show at Pearson Lakes Art Center Saturday afternoon.
Director Judy Weipert says this year’s theme is the Great Harmony Bake-off. “We call it a show rather than a concert. It’s kind of like musical theater. This year, it’s gonna be called The Great Harmony Bake-off, which is a take-off on the British Bake-off show. I think there will be about 25 of us on stage this year. We have two Chapter quartets that are gonna be performing. Affinity, which is the quartet I sing in, and The Peppers. The show’s gonna be in three segments. The first segment is our scripted bake-off show, and then the second segment are the two quartets performing and then the third segment is a kind of recap of our Louisville Competition packet.”
She adds that there are a couple of ways to purchase tickets. “Admission is $20 at the door but advance tickets are $15, and they may be purchased at Lewis Family Drug in Spirit Lake, and because we’re doing this Great Harmony Bake-off, we’re adding a bake sale and silent auction as part of the fun. So, people are gonna come hungry and leave happy.”
The show will start at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon in the Lauridsen Theatre at Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji.
