(Arnolds Park)– The Okoboji Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy program is off and running for another year. The initiative empowers young individuals to identify community needs and emphasizes the importance of community giving. Students from Okoboji, Spirit Lake and Harris-Lake Park High Schools are involved in the program, raising funds and learning about grant allocations.
In the first 14 years of the program, students have granted over $554,650 to 30 different nonprofit groups.
The current Youth in Philanthropy fund drive runs through March 31st, 2025. Grant awards will be announced in May, 2025.
