Emmet County Animal Shelter Holding Major Fundraiser This Weekend

November 01, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Estherville)– The Emmet County Animal Shelter will hold a BINGO Fundraiser on Saturday night at the Estherville VFW. Director Kristy Henning says the evening will include dinner from 5:30 until 7:00 pm and a silent auction…

“We have prizes for our BINGO games. A dollar per game per card, and then we have a silent auction. If you didn’t want to participate in dinner and wanted to come for BINGO and just bid on silent auction items, so many things that will be happening that night. And when we did this five years ago we were packed. So make a plan to come, support the shelter, have some food, have a fun time playing BINGO and then bid on some auction items.”

She adds that the event is an important fundraiser for the shelter…

“The shelter doesn’t receive any governmental funds, the city, county, state or government funds at all. We receive funds through donations, fundraisers, grants that we write, our can redemption is huge for us. Every time someone donates to us that goes to actually functioning the shelter. That pays our bills, that does lifesaving operations for animals that need them. All those things that make the shelter click every day so that we continue to be in our community and support our community.”
