Spencer Flood Victims Urged To Complete Survey

October 23, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– Spencer residents impacted by the June flood are encouraged to complete a flood response survey. City officials say it gathers essential information including property type, building type, occupancy details, structure size and more to determine eligibility for FEMA’s 403 or 404 Public Assistance programs. The 403 program offers emergency protective measures, debris removal and temporary relocation assistance, including demolition in some cases. The 404 program, known as the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, provides funding for long-term mitigation projects such as demolitions, relocations and property buy-outs in high-risk areas.

City officials add the second phase of the post-disaster public outreach effort will feature a public event, expected in November.
