Firefighters From Three Departments Battle Hay Bale Fire

(Estherville)– Firefighters from three communities battled a hay bale fire Wednesday in Emmet county. The Estherville Fire Department was initially summoned. Once firefighters arrived on the scene they called for mutual aid from the Wallingford and Gruver Fire Departments for additional water and equipment. Emmet County Secondary Roads also assisted on the scene by moving the hay bales. Crews were there about three hours. There were no reports of any injuries. No immediate word on how the fire got started.
