(Arnolds Park)– Two of the more than century-old paintings Abbie Gardner used to illustrate the story of her experiences are about to be cleaned and restored. It’s being made possible through an International Questers Grant awarded to the local Okoboji Queen Questers Chapter.
Past Presidents of Okoboji Queen Questers Donna Mau and Maryanna Hubbard recently joined Sate of Iowa Historical Sites Manager Michael Plummer to carefully wrap and then load two of the paintings from the Abbie Gardner Visitors Center into a State of Iowa vehicle to be transported to Des Moines where Sara Boisen, Painting Conservator, will restore them.
