A Reminder That Absentee Ballots Can Now Be Requested For Nov. Election

September 10, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Another reminder that the window in which to request an absentee ballot for the November 5th election is now open. Jordan Moyer oversees elections at the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office…

“October 21st is the last day that you can request an absentee ballot by mail.”

And she says the requests are rolling in…

“We have at least 100 right now, and you know with it only being September 10th there’s quite a bit that have been coming in and we’re expecting a really big turnout with a lot of the people in Dickinson county going south there’s going to be a very big turnout especially with the absentee voting starting October 16th. There will be quite a few people coming in then so they can stay and make sure they get their ballot back into our office.”

For those requesting ballots be mailed to them, Moyer says it’s important they make her office aware of the address to where they want it sent to. October 16th is the earliest county Auditors in Iowa can begin mailing absentee ballots.

Moyer adds those who have already filled out a request form in the mail don’t need to fill out another one.
