Head Of Clay County Fair Expecting Good Attendance Numbers This Year

(Spencer)– The start of the 2024 Clay County Fair Powered by SMU is now less than 24 hours away. Jerome Hertel, CEO, says all indications are pointing to a great turnout this year…

“You know, fairs I think around Iowa have seen some increases in attendance so we’re hoping that we’ll kind of follow that trend also. You know, one thing really nice about the Clay County Fair is we don’t consider ourselves just a Spencer fair, but a regional fair. We draw over 300,000 people every year and they come from a long ways away so we’re going to count on that, we’re going to count on having a great attendance.”

Hertel says this year’s fair will also serve as a great opportunity for those impacted by this summer’s flood to get their mind on something different for at least a little while. Gates on the 2024 Clay County Fair Powered by SMU open at 7:00 am tomorrow (Sat.). The fair runs through Sunday, September 15th.
