(Okoboji)– Two major road projects get underway Tuesday (Sept. 3rd) in the Iowa Great Lakes.
A re-surfacing and pavement replacement project on Stakeout Road in Okoboji will be taking place from the intersection with Highway 71 to just north of Chalstrom Beach. While local traffic will still be allowed through that area, motorists are encouraged to take an alternate route. The work is expected to take about four weeks to complete, depending upon the weather.
The other major project involves the fourth and final phase of improvements to Highway 71 through the lakes corridor. This phase involves pavement removal and replacement on the southbound lane from about Ackley Street to Lake Street in Arnolds Park. Here again, while access to businesses in that area will remain, thru traffic is urged to detour using Highway 86. That project, again, depending upon the weather, should be complete in early November.
