Spencer Flood Music Festival At Arnolds Park Raises More Than $60,000

August 21, 2024 Steve Schwaller

(Arnolds Park)– A special event the Arnolds Park Amusement Park held in late July to raise funds for Spencer flood victims turned out to be a huge success. Arnolds Park CEO Jon Pausley tells KUOO news the amount of money raised during the Spencer Flood Music Festival well surpassed their goal…

“$60,200 was donated on behalf of a few different companies and some sponsors and a lot of people inside the community that day, so we are just grateful. More than we anticipated. We were hoping for $50,000, that was our goal, and we eclipsed that by $10,200. All of the money went down to the Spencer Chamber Foundation for them to distribute as they saw fit to the highest and best needs. We just wanted to make sure we were doing the right thing by being a part of that.”

Pausley says that was in addition to another special event Arnolds Park held for Spencer residents…

“The park also sponsored that week 671 students from the Spencer Community Schools came up during the week and had a nice day at the park. We had some great volunteers who also fed them a meal every day that they came up, and people from Spencer themselves that week, that same Saturday as the concert, we had families from Spencer, a couple thousand of them, who came up and were able to enjoy a day in the park and a free meal thanks to Hormel Foods and our team here at the park. We just really wanted to make it a special day for them. We had some minor inconveniences up here in our area as compared to all the devastation down in Spencer. We wanted to make sure they were seen, they felt like people in the community cared, and we hope we accomplished that for them.”

Pausley thanks all the sponsors and volunteers that helped out.
