(Spirit Lake)– An Okoboji man with an extensive criminal history is back in the Dickinson county jail.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Okoboji Police Department, Wesley Swanson was arrested this past Wednesday evening, July 10th, following an incident in the area of Camp Street and Holiday Way in Okoboji. According to the complaint, Swanson was walking with another person when he grabbed a cell phone and motorcycle keys from the victim’s pants pocket. Swanson then began running from the victim, with the victim chasing him. The complaint states that Swanson eventually dropped the cell phone, which the victim picked up. The victim then continued to chase Swanson about a block or so before giving up.
Swanson was later located by police and was arrested and charged with robbery in the second degree…a class “C” Felony; possession of drug paraphernalia…a simple misdemeanor; and for violation of parole. Swanson is being held on a $500,000 cash only bond.
