Dickinson County Supervisors Hear Update From Family Crisis Center

November 21, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) heard an update from representatives of the Family Crisis Center. The agency provides free and confidential services to victims and survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, homicide, and other violent crimes…

“We work really hard to help bridge that trust between community and our law enforcement so that people get the justice that they deserve and that we get people who are hurting people off the streets.”

The Family Crisis Center receives referrals from law enforcement, county attorneys, court witness victim coordinators, employers, family, friends and survivors themselves…

“We come in, we provide the emotional support, we provide the community resources. We take a big piece of that off their desk that work up there in the County Attorney’s Office to sort of alleviate all of the phone calls and questions that they might be getting about the process, about how to manage their lives now that this has happened.”

The Family Crisis Center also operates and staffs a statewide call center 24/7. The number is 800-382-5603.
