Portion Of Estherville Cordoned Off Due To Natural Gas Leak

August 01, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Estherville)– Crews were called to the scene of a natural gas leak in Estherville earlier today (Monday). Emmet County Emergency Management says a contractor accidentally struck a natural gas line a little after 10:00 am this (Monday) morning in the area of 4th Avenue and North 8th Street. A perimeter around that was cordoned off and residents were asked to stay out of that area as a precaution.

The Estherville Fire Department and Black Hills Energy responded to the scene. The necessary repairs were made without incident and crews cleared the scene a little after 12:30 pm.
