Pearson Lakes Art Center to expand Culinary Arts Department with addition of New Kitchen

July 26, 2022 Becky Thoreson

(Okoboji)-The Pearson Lakes Art Center is expanding their Culinary Arts Department. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

Pearson Lakes Art Center has installed a new kitchen, with plans to expand their Culinary Arts Program.
Executive Director Bob Kirschbaum says, the kitchen has been in the works for a couple of years. “The Staff, The Board of Directors, everybody worked really hard to make this dream become a reality. I would encourage everyone to stop in and go down to Pomerantz Hall and take a gander at our new kitchen.”

He notes that the Art Center plans to offer more Culinary Arts classes in the future. “We’re going to start offering some special classes toward the end of August and then expand more into this fall, having numerous classes that we haven’t offered before. The person teaching the class will have two different cameras on them so you can see what they’re doing. Four big screen TVs. He or she will have a cordless mic on, so there won’t be any problems hearing or seeing what the chef is doing.”
