(Worthington)- Authorities say a teen drowned earlier this week in Lake Okabena in Worthington. Police responded to the scene a little before 4:30 pm Monday. They learned a 19-year-old male who was swimming had not come back to the surface. Over an hour later at 5:46 pm, the male was brought from the water by the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office and Worthington Fire Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The male was identified as being from Worthington.
The Worthington Police Department, Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Worthington Fire and Rescue, Sanford Ambulance and Luverne Fire and Rescue all assisted at the scene, as well as several members of the community.
