(Rock Valley)– Authorities in Sioux county have released the name of a man who drowned the 4th of July in a pond near Rock Valley. He’s identified as 19-year-old Aldo Thomas-DeLeon of Rock Valley.
The Sheriff’s Office says Tomas-Deleon was swimming at Groeneweg Pond a mile north of Rock Valley when he went under. Bystanders and emergency workers located Tomas-Deleon and removed him from the water. Life-saving measures were administered. He was transported by air to a Sioux Falls hospital where Tomas-Deleon was pronounced deceased a short time later.
