(Spirit Lake)– A judge that heard testimony in a May bench trial for one of the suspects charged in the death of Angel Bastman of Lake Park will announce her verdict next week. Allison Decker was charged with murder in the first degree; theft in the second degree and conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony. According to online court documents, Judge Shayne Mayer will announce her verdict in the case at 1:30 pm Tuesday, June 21st, in Dickinson County District Court.
Another suspect in the case, Justice Berntson, will be sentenced at 11:00 am that same day. Berntson was originally charged with murder in the first degree, theft in the second degree and conspiracy to commit a non-forcible felony. He pled guilty to a reduced charge of attempted murder as part of a plea deal.
