(Estherville)-The Iowa Lakes Community College Music Department will host the 41st Annual Reggie Shive Jazz Camp this week.
Instrumental Music Professor Carol Ayres says, professional musicians, known as The Headliners, will return to educate and entertain. “Jazz Camp is a week long, extensive study for 7th through 12th graders, and we bring in great performers, teachers from all over The United States, and they teach by day and they play concerts every night.”
She notes that several concerts are on tap this week. “Starting Monday night, The Headliners will be playing with the Dick Baumann Big Band at the Pearson Lakes Art Center at 7 pm. Tuesday night, it’s a bring your own chair to the Thoreson Park in Estherville. A free concert. Wednesday night we’re going to The Queen for a little New Orleans style jazz cruise. Thursday, at 3:30 in the afternoon, we start the camper concerts at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center, and then when that concert’s over, The Headliners will be playing at Little Swan Lake Winery.”
