(Little Rock)– A high speed pursuit Wednesday evening on Highway 9 in Lyon county ended west of Litttle Rock with the arrest of a Sioux Falls man.
Lyon county authorities say it started when a deputy tried to pull over a vehicle for registration and equipment violations. The driver refused to stop and the vehicle continued westbound. Stop sticks were deployed near the intersection of Highway 9 and Indian Avenue where the vehicle went off the road and became stuck in a ditch. The driver then took off on foot. The suspect, 24-year-old Daniel Lingar, was apprehended a short time later.
Lingar was charged with eluding, fugitive from justice, criminal mischief in the 4th degree, operating while intoxicated…drugged, and possession of methamphetamine. A number of traffic-related charges were also filed against Lingar, who was also wanted on warrants out of Minnehaha county, South Dakota.
