(Arnolds Park)-A special concert will kick off Memorial Weekend in the Iowa Great Lakes. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will present The Linda Ronstadt Experience on May 27 at the Roof Garden Ballroom as part of the Rock the Campus Concert Series.
Executive Director Clay Norris says. the show features singer Tristan McIntosh. “Tristan was a finalist several years back on American Idol. She finished about 6th that year, kind of a country rocker. Later on, she ended up getting together with a group of musicians, some from Nashville, some from the East Coast, and formed this tremendous group called The Linda Ronstadt Experience and she becomes Linda. I mean, the videos that I’ve seen are absolutely incredible. She looks quite a bit like her, definitely her singing style, everything. You can close your eyes and you think you are listening to Linda Ronstadt. This group is trying to be totally authentic to the recordings of Linda Ronstadt and her group.”
He adds that various ticket options are available. “We do have booths available, and we have reserved seats up front that are $35, General Admission for $25, and for this level of talent, that is a really good price. It’ll be at the Roof Garden Ballroom, May 27th and it starts at 7:30, doors will open at 6:30. Gosh, we hope to see you all there. It’ll be a fantastic evening, I know it will.”
