(Spencer)– No injuries were reported Tuesday in a fire at an apartment building in Spencer. Firefighters were called to 120 West 6th Street around Noon and found smoke coming from the building. The fire was located in the basement and was quickly put out, but not before the structure sustained damage to some floor joists.
Several people were in their apartments at the time but managed to get out uninjured. The American Red Cross was working with them for temporary living arrangements.
No word yet on a possible cause of the fire.
